About the project

With the PowerPRO UPS system, Hitec introduces a new generation of uninterruptible power supply solutions. The innovative design represents a shift from traditionally open machines to fully enclosed systems, dramatically reducing noise emissions while preserving easy service access and a compact footprint.

The enclosure is designed around the heart of the machine: the centrally positioned generator. The prominent orange arrows highlight its location and double as a dynamic status indicator. They pulse gently when the system is on standby and illuminate brightly during operation. This functional design element goes beyond aesthetics, visually expressing the core purpose and performance of the machine.

Engineering and Prototype Development

Following the design phase of the PowerPRO UPS system, the concept was transformed into a fully manufacturable enclosure solution. The enclosure was developed and produced in collaboration with our sheet metal supplier.

To ensure a perfect fit, the complete enclosure was pre-assembled at the supplier’s facility before final powder coating. This allowed any minor modifications to be made quickly and efficiently, eliminating the need for costly rework.

The first fully operational machine was then assembled in the Hitec assembly hall, working closely together with Hitec’s specialists and engineers.

Final product, this design was honored with the prestigious iF Design Award.
